Chia, or Salvia Hispanica, is related to the mint family and the seeds anc be black or white. Nutritionally both coloured seeds are very similar. Each seed is 19-23% protein (which is gluten free), 34% oil and 25% fibre.

Chia seeds are good for dogs in small amounts, offering an excellent source of B vitamins, omega fatty acids, antioxidants, fibre, and minerals like calcium, magnesium and phosphorus.
